Aimed at fostering diplomacy through academic and research cooperation, SiG actively collaborates with international education organizations, foreign embassies in Greece, and Greek diplomatic authorities abroad, to forge contacts and foster synergies between Greek and foreign universities through the design and implementation of international strategic partnership programs promoting bilateral collaboration in higher education between Greece and different countries.

Cooperation in the higher education sector is an integral part of the U.S.-Greece bilateral relations. SiG plays a key role in the development and promotion of enhanced collaboration between higher education institutions, academics and researchers from both sides of the Atlantic. In this context, SiG participates –as co-organizer– in major international academic partnership programs, such as the International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP) Greece, participates in NAFSA – the largest Annual International Conference and Expo, organizes various webinars, workshops, and networking events to connect Greek universities with U.S. institutions, and provides them with insights and guidance in their international partnerships, and works closely with the Greek diplomatic missions to the U.S. to facilitate connections and academic cooperation, and promote student mobility between the two countries.
