On Monday March 27, Study in Greece, in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Athens, organized a webinar on internationalization of higher education titled: What does it mean to internationalize a university?. The fascinating presentation was delivered by Prof. Meredith McQuaid, J.D., International Education Consultant and former Associate Vice President and Dean of International Programs at the University of Minnesota, who was invited by the U.S. Embassy in Athens. The exceptional expert shared her insights on comprehensive internationalization, focusing on the strategies and operations of a successful institutional internationalization plan, and developed her ideas and strategic input on the conception, design, management and sustainability of international partnerships in the field of higher education. Attendees from all Greek public universities participated in the event and engaged in a fruitful dialogue with the American consultant. The goal of the event was to provide useful tools and best practices to facilitate the development of partnerships and synergies between Greek and U.S. universities in the context of the evolving Hellenic-American collaboration in higher education after the promising IAPP Pharos Summit 2022.
Study in Greece is grateful for the opportunity to have met with Dr. McQuaid and would like to express our gratitude to Ms. Shanna Surendra, Cultural Affairs Officer, and Ms. Marina Cheilitsi, Public Engagement Specialist at the U.S. Embassy in Athens for their continuous support and significant contribution to our efforts. We look forward to continuing to work together to boost partnerships and promote collaborations between Greek and U.S. universities.
