EAIE 2025 – Greece at the forefront of international education

Study in Greece participated together with 8 Greek state universities for the 3rd consecutive year in the most significant event of the international education sector EAIE 2025 Annual Conference and Exhibition, which took place in the vibrant city of Gothenburg on 9-12 September 2025.

Comprising representatives of 8 Greek higher education institutions, including Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Athens University of Economics and Business, University of Crete, Technical University of Crete, Hellenic Mediterranean University, University of Macedonia, Hellenic Open University and Harokopio University, the Greek delegation gave a strong presence at this year’s event which was dedicated to the connection between education and innovation in a fast changing and challenging global landscape. Convening more than 7.000 attendees from around the globe, the event was alive with energy, ideas and collaboration. Across session halls, country and university booths and informal networking spaces, participants came together to share knowledge, explore innovative practices, and spark new perspectives. It was a 3-day event of exchanging where inspiration met professional growth, and where every conversation held the potential to shape the future of international education.

Throughout the event, Greek representatives had the opportunity to engage in productive meetings and fruitful discussions with international counterparts, present and promote their universities’ academic offerings, and explore collaboration opportunities with universities from different countries in diverse fields, from the creation of dual degrees and joint research to student, faculty and staff exchange. The exhibition offered Greek higher education institutions the chance to acquire knowledge and insights on the latest trends of international education, as well as to create awareness about the internationalization of Greek universities and student life in Greece.

In the framework of the conference, SiG in collaboration with strategic international partners organized four events to promote enhanced collaboration between Greek and foreign HEIs, as well as to elevate global engagement and increase brand awareness regarding Greek higher education. Working closely with DAAD-Study in Germany, SiG gave participating Greek universities the opportunity to meet and engage with German institutions during a matchmaking event accompanied by the signing of a MoU between the two national organizations. The networking event between Greek and Czech universities designed by SiG and DZS-Study in Czechia was an absolute success offering both sides a bespoke platform for exchange and potential partnership exploration. Moreover, SiG meetings and joint presentations with leading organizations in the global education sector such as QS and Studyportals focused on global promotion, brand awareness, global performance and rankings, and comprehensive internationalization and recruitment strategies based on data analysis and market research.

The significant Greek presence at EAIE highlights Greek universities commitment to internationalization, and reflects Greece’s strategic vision to reposition itself as an international education and research hub.

We are looking forward to next year’s event to be held in Glasgow.
