Study in Greece (SiG), in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Athens, hosted a highly successful virtual event aimed at providing Greek universities with essential insights to enhance Greek-U.S. academic collaborations and attract American students to explore educational opportunities in Greece. The event, held on Friday, March 1st, featured Ms. Jennifer Evanuik, a distinguished higher education internationalization consultant and Senior Director of International Initiatives at Georgia State University.
On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, a workshop on the topic of “The development and implementation of international partnerships with an impact on Higher Education” was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sport, on the occasion of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the British Council, the British Embassy in Greece and Study in Greece, which, as the co-signatories stressed, constitutes a key point in the cooperation between the UK and Greek universities and is expected to significantly strengthen the academic ties between the two countries with the potential of developing student and staff exchange programmes, the implementation of double degrees, joint research projects, and many more.
SiG together with the IIE and Fulbright Greece will be hosting a series of thematic virtual discussions that could be useful for U.S. and Greek participants, including topics such as, funding mechanisms to boost academic collaborations, semester abroad programs and summer schools, 2+2 agreements, joint degrees and other forms of curricular collaboration and, development of MoUs and credit transfer issues
