As part of its broader strategy for internationalization and global outreach, Study in Greece (SiG) participated in the Study in Europe Fair in India, engaging directly with prospective students and gaining valuable insights into one of the world’s most dynamic study-abroad markets. The fair took place from April 19th to April 23rd, featuring in-person events in New Delhi and Bangalore, as well as a dedicated virtual fair.
The Study in Europe Fair brought together higher education representatives from over 20 European countries and attracted more than 6,000 visitors across its physical events. Within this diverse and competitive environment, Study in Greece maintained a strong and consistent presence, drawing significant interest from students exploring international study opportunities.
Throughout the fair, SiG representatives engaged with hundreds of prospective students at both physical and virtual booths. Attendees demonstrated a high level of awareness and preparedness, asking targeted and well-informed questions about academic programmes, admission procedures, and student life in Greece. The overall response reflected a growing interest in Greece as an emerging study destination that combines quality education, affordability, and a welcoming environment for international students.
The virtual fair, which concluded the programme, proved particularly insightful, expanding access to students from across India and enabling direct engagement with representatives of European universities and study abroad institutions. At the Study in Greece virtual booth, inquiries were notably focused and well-informed, reflecting strong interest across a wide range of disciplines and study levels. Beyond academic considerations, many participants expressed a clear motivation to experience Greece’s rich cultural and historical heritage, alongside the dynamic and internationally recognized student life offered by its cities.
Student interest covered a broad spectrum of disciplines. Medicine, Engineering, and Business and Management were among the most popular fields, while areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Deep Learning generated particularly strong engagement. Social Sciences and Humanities also attracted notable attention, especially at the postgraduate level, including Master’s and PhD programmes. These trends highlight the evolving academic priorities of Indian students, as well as the increasing alignment of Greek higher education with global demands.
Participation in the Study in Europe Fair further demonstrated the growing international visibility and competitiveness of Greek higher education. Greek universities continue to expand their international programmes and strengthen their outward-looking orientation, positioning themselves as an increasingly attractive option for students from major international markets such as India.
The presence of Study in Greece at the fair reaffirmed its role as the national initiative for promoting Greek higher education abroad, while also highlighting the strong potential for deeper academic engagement between Greece and India in the years ahead.
