The Hellenic Mediterranean University Earns 4 Stars in the QS Stars international ranking

The Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) has successfully undergone the QS Stars evaluation process, which is conducted every four years by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), one of the leading university ranking and evaluation agencies in the field of higher education. The University achieved a particularly significant distinction, receiving an overall rating of 4 Stars (QS Stars).

This achievement is particularly significant, as it concerns a regional public university founded in 2019, which has managed to establish a recognizable international presence in just a few years. The achievement of 4 QS Stars is a strong confirmation of HMU’s dynamic growth in the areas of education, research, outreach, governance, and engagement with society.

The QS Stars ranking provides universities with the opportunity to demonstrate their strengths internationally in a well-founded way. The results offer a significant advantage in promoting and enhancing the institution’s reputation, while they can help attract prospective students, faculty members, and partner organizations from Greece and abroad.

For the Hellenic Mediterranean University, this distinction serves as recognition of the collective efforts of the academic community, the administrative services, the students, the research teams, and partner organizations. Furthermore, it confirms that a new, dynamic, and regional public university can make a strong academic impact and stake its claim on the international map of higher education.

The HMU continues to consistently invest in quality assurance, the ongoing upgrading of curricula, support for research activities, internationalization, and enhancement of the student experience, with the aim of becoming a benchmark for higher education in Crete, Greece, and internationally.
