The Interdisciplinary MSc in Brain and Mind Sciences (B&M) offers a rigorous and research-oriented postgraduate experience dedicated to the scientific exploration of the brain, cognition, and behavior.
Jointly organized by the University of Crete and the Foundation for Research & Technology – Hellas (FORTH), the program provides students with access to an internationally recognized research environment where neuroscience is studied through experimental, computational, and theoretical perspectives.
Designed for students interested in advancing scientific knowledge about the human mind, the program emphasizes methodological precision, interdisciplinary thinking, and active engagement with contemporary research questions. Students work closely with established research laboratories, gaining hands-on experience with modern scientific approaches used to investigate neural systems, cognition, and behavior.
The MSc spans four semesters and is delivered entirely in English, following a full-time academic structure. Admission is highly competitive, with 25 students accepted each year, ensuring a focused learning environment and meaningful interaction with faculty members and researchers.
A key advantage of the program is its integration within Crete’s dynamic research ecosystem. Students benefit from direct access to internationally visible research institutes and advanced scientific infrastructure, while studying in a setting known for its high quality of life and vibrant academic community.
Importantly, the program does not charge tuition fees, making it an accessible opportunity for talented students seeking advanced training in neuroscience and preparation for doctoral studies or research-oriented careers.
Prospective applicants interested in joining a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment are encouraged to learn more about the program and its admissions procedures.
