Committed to enhancing the quality of instruction and research and building a vibrant, inclusive and internationally-oriented higher education environment, the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs of the Hellenic Republic launches the Visiting Professors/Visiting Researchers Program.
The Program aims to boost internationalization of Greek Higher Education and promote excellence in academic instruction and scientific research by encouraging a flow of top scholars and researchers into Greece to carry out teaching activities, conduct research and develop programming in Greek universities.
The project’s direct beneficiaries are Greek Higher Education Institutions (ΗEIs) in order to finance Visiting Professors/Visiting Researchers who will provide teaching/research work. The project will also co-finance cooperating companies from Greece or abroad, which will implement a collaborative research project together with a Visiting Professor/Visiting Researcher.
The Visiting Professors/Visiting Researchers Program is part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Hellenic Republic entitled “Greece 2.0”, which was approved by the Economic and Financial Affairs Council of the European Union in 2021 with the goal of positioning Greece in a new economic and social trajectory through a variety of investments and reforms in a wide range of sectors including education and research.
