UoA ranks 34th in the world in reducing social inequalities

Announced by the prestigious Times Higher Education magazine, the very important global University ranking – THE University Impact Ranking constitutes an assessment of the position of Universities worldwide, based on their economic and social impact, as prescribed in the United Nations’ Seventeen Sustainable Development Goals. This is the third year that this ranking is published, which includes an evaluation of the performance of the Universities in all 17 objectives.

This year’s announcement reserved for the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens extremely high positions and distinctions in individual goals of economic and social development, despite the fact that the participation of Universities increased by 46% compared to last year (1115 this year from 766 in 2020). The results of the ranking confirm the significant impact that NKUA has on improving social welfare, economic development, tackling social inequalities, education and health.

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is ranked in total 301-400 worldwide among 1115 Universities with a total score of 68.7 / 100 and in the 1st place among the seven Greek Universities included in this year’s ranking.

More specifically:

In Objective 10: Reduced Inequalities, NKUA ranks 34th in the world among 669 Universities with a score of 80.2 out of 100

In Objective 4: Quality Education, the NKUA is in 101-200 positions worldwide among the 966 Universities selected and with an overall score of 70/100

In Objective 5: Gender Equality, NKUA ranks 101-200 worldwide among the 776 Universities selected and with an overall score of 62.2 / 100

In Objective 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), NKUA is in positions 101-200 worldwide among the 680 Universities selected and with an overall score of 66.3 / 100

In Objective 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, NKUA is ranked 201-300 worldwide among the 653 Universities selected and with an overall score of 59.5 / 100

In Objective 3: Good Health and Wellbeing, NKUA is ranked 301-400 worldwide among the 871 Universities selected and with an overall score of 61.1 / 100

In Objective 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, NKUA is ranked 301-400 worldwide among the 685 Universities selected and with an overall score of 53.9 / 100

In Objective 17: PARTNERSHIP FOR THE GOALS, NKUA is ranked 601-800 worldwide among the 1154 Universities selected and with a total score of 43.3 / 100.
