Joint Master’s Program “Identity, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture” – Call for Applications

The Joint MA Program “Identity, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture” by the Department of Theology (expedient), the Department of Educational Studies and the Department of Philology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the European Wergeland Center (Council of Europe and Norway) issues the call of applications for the academic year 2025-2026. The submission of applications and necessary documents will be completed on May 15th, 2025, for both the English speaking and Greek-speaking Curriculum.

The innovative Joint MA Program lasts 12 months and it is carried out 100% online, with a separate Greek- and English-language Curriculum and three specializations:

  1. Religion, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture
  2. Language, History, and Literature in Education and Competences for Democratic Culture
  3. Education for Democratic Citizenship (EDC)-Human Rights Education (HRE) and Competences for Democratic Culture

Students who successfully complete the Program receive a Master’s Degree (MA) in Education.

The MA Program has a tuition fee of

  • 3.400 euros for the EU and citizens of countries that are members of the Council of Europe,
  • 5.600 euros for international students.

The tuition fee is paid in 4 installments as described in the MA’s Internal Regulation. All information is available online on the Master Program’s official website.

Students who have enrolled in the MA Program may be eligible for a waiver from tuition fees if they meet certain financial and social criteria detailed in the current legislation. In order to be eligible for a waiver, students must have been awarded a first cycle degree with at least 7.5/10 (or equivalent score in other grading systems).
