A Program with an International Outlook
The English Medical Program (EMP) is a six-year academic journey worth 360 ECTS credits, combining a solid preclinical foundation with extensive clinical training. Designed with excellence and international competitiveness in mind, the EMP incorporates modern teaching methodologies — from traditional lectures and laboratory sessions to interactive, case-based learning and small-group teaching. Clinical training will take place at the University General Hospital of Patras (PGNP), one of the largest hospitals in the country, as well as at the University Health Centre.
During the first three years of study, students also receive Greek language courses, ensuring smooth integration into the academic and social life of the country.
Admission Criteria
The program is open to international applicants who have completed the last two years of secondary education abroad. Applications are also welcome from international university graduates in related disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacology). A minimum B2 level of English proficiency is required, or a TOEFL certificate with a score of at least 79/120. Selection is based on the high school diploma (20%, with maximum score 20), curriculum vitae (25%, with maximum score 25), English language certificate (30%, with maximum score 30), and interview with the curriculum committee members (30%, with maximum score 30). The 50 highest-scoring candidates will be admitted, provided their total score is no lower than 80/105. The principles of equality, diversity and inclusion underpin the entire selection process.
