E-Learning program “Classical Greek – Level A”- Call for applications

The E-Learning program of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA) announces the successful progress of the “Classical Greek – Level A” program. This program started in October 2022 and 120 learners from all around the globe have already enrolled to the course with many of them successfully completing it.

Participants from various countries, such as the USA, Australia, Canada, India, the United Kingdom, and others, have been enthusiastic about the opportunity provided by the University of Athens (the oldest Greek university) to learn ancient Greek remotely. By successfully completing the program, participants obtain a Continuing Education Certificate from the University of Athens.

The “Classical Greek – Level A” program is a pioneering initiative of UoA’s E-Learning, aimed at promoting the rich heritage of the Greek language and culture, worldwide. The program’s objective is to teach ancient Greek and give the opportunity to people from various countries to discover the roots of the language and culture that have influenced humanity from antiquity to the present and continue to do so.

The 12-week program is open to anyone interested, as no prior knowledge of ancient Greek is required. Its rich content includes written theory, exercises, videos, as well as communication and collaboration with the instructor. Additionally, it presents some of the finest excerpts from ancient literature.
