Postgraduate programs in foreign languages!
School of Agricultural Sciences | Department of Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment
HosMic, mainly through the understanding of the described research processes, aims at the specialization of its graduates in topics
concerning: a) the structure, the functioning and regulation of plant and animal microbiomes; b) the interactions of microbiomes with their
hosts; c) the interactions between microorganisms (particularly the symbiotic ones); d) the understanding of the regulatory mechanisms
governing these interactions, and the overall holobiont homeostasis; e) the role of abiotic factors in these interactions.
HosMic graduates are expected to be capable to study the composition, the structure, the metabolic profile and functional traits of symbiotic
microbiomes, and to identify and study hosts within the holobiont context. They are expected to be able to develop strategies and interventions for the exploitation of holobiont interactions in applications in the environment, agriculture and the health of higher animal organisms. The MSc aims are realized through advanced and up-to-date courses on contemporary science of symbiotic microbiomes and research activities on topics of macro-/micro-organisms. The MSc graduates will have the necessary skills for a successful career in the private, public, academic and research sectors in fields like: research and development (RD) or production of agrochemicals (e.g. pesticides, fertilizers); development and maintenance of plant propagating material; field of biotechnological products; field of veterinary products; field of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics; field of environmental design, management and restoration.
Faculty of Health Sciences | School of Medicine
DPESS objectives are: a) to cultivate and promote Physical Education and Sports Science through theoretical and applied teaching and research, b) to provide graduates with all the knowledge and skills necessary for their scientific and career development c) To contribute to the advancement of Greek Sports and to promote the ideals of sportsmanship, ethical behavior and fair play. d) To promote public awareness of the importance of exercise as a main contributor to the improvement of health and quality of life.
School of Physical Education and Sport Science | Department of Physical Education and Sport Science
The aim of the program is to offer master’s level education in the area of Exercise and Sport Psychology and to educate students to a professional level.
Students will acquire the necessary knowledge and competencies that will enable them to understand human behavior in exercise and sport contexts and to apply effectively their knowledge to enhance physical activity, health, well-being, and high performance in the areas of public health and sports.
Sport and exercise psychology seeks to understand psychological factors that occur in sports, physical activity and exercise. The focus is on behavior, emotions and cognitions of persons involved in sport and exercise settings, e.g. exercise participants, athletes, coaches, teachers, therapists, parents, spectators, officials etc. Sport and exercise psychology draws upon the scientific fields of psychology, sport, education and health sciences.
