Study in Greece together with 12 Greek state universities participated in the EAIE 2024 Annual Conference and Exhibition, which took place in the picturesque city of Toulouse.
The Greek delegation was the first-ever to participate in EAIE, comprising representatives from 12 leading Greek institutions, including Athens University of Economics and Business, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, University of Patras, University of Crete, Technical University of Crete, Democritus University of Thrace, University of Thessaly, University of Western Macedonia, International Hellenic University, Hellenic Mediterranean University, and Harokopio University. The Secretary-General for Higher Education at the Greek Ministry of Education, Prof. Nikos Papaioannou also joined the Greek mission to Toulouse, underlining the state’s willingness and commitment in the internationalization of higher education, and the promotion of Greece as a study destination for international students.
More than 7.000 higher education professionals from around the globe convened in Toulouse to celebrate the EAIE’s 35th anniversary, and reflect on the future of the sector. Showcasing diverse and innovative programs, products, and services advancing the future of international education and exchange, this prestigious European event provides a robust foundation of knowledge and unmatched expertise, and a platform for the development of international partnerships across all fields of academia.
Throughout the event, the Greek representatives had the opportunity to engage in productive meetings and explore collaboration opportunities with universities from different countries, focusing on the creation of international degrees, student exchange programs and joint research. Furthermore, the exhibition offered Greek higher education institutions the chance to acquire knowledge and insights on the latest trends of transnational education, as well as to create awareness about the wide range of academic programs, research projects and student life in Greece. It’s worth mentioning that global events such as the EAIE Conference and Exhibition enable Greek universities to network with peers on topics that matter to them, and collaborate with various organizations and stakeholders of the field of international higher education to build on their global brand and reputation from the perspective of strategic marketing and promotion.
The significant Greek presence at EAIE highlights Greek universities commitment to internationalization, and Greek state’s strategic vision to establish Greece as an international study destination.
