SiG and IFG join forces to advance Greek-French Academic Collaboration

In the spirit of the ongoing collaboration between Greece and France, Study in Greece joins forces with the French Institute in Athens for the signing of a Memorandum of Collaboration for the promotion of collaboration between Greek and French higher education institutions. The event was held on February 7th, in the context of the annual French Universities Fair, organized by the French Institute. The Fair has a long standing tradition of inviting the most prestigious universities in France to Greece so that potential students have the opportunity to engage with university representatives and gather information and insight on study opportunities in France.

The President of Study in Greece (SiG), Prof. Christos Michalakelis, and the Attaché for Scientific and University Cooperation and Deputy Director of the French Institute in Greece (SCAC-IFG), Mr. Μatthieu Abgrall emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to promote enhanced collaboration between Greek and French Universities, especially through the development of joint study programs that will increase student mobility between the two countries. Underlying the importance of the strong academic ties between the two countries, the French Ambassador in Greece Mrs. Laurence Auer, and the Director of the Office of the Minister of Education, Professor Dimitris Bourantonis both highlighted the significance of the development of strategic partnerships in the field of higher education, which pave the way for cultural exchange and even more fruitful collaborations in the future.

It is worth mentioning that the French Universities Fair took place in Athens on February 7th through February 8th, and in Thessaloniki on February 9th, attracting thousands of high school and university students interested in pursuing studies in French universities.
