In October 15-17 2025, the Hellenic Mediterranean University is hosting the International Virtual Exchange Conference in Herakleion, Crete, an event that emphasizes interconnectivity in global education. With a combined mode of physical and virtual engagement and attendance, IVEC promotes virtual exchange in education, providing insightful lectures and speeches of leading figures in the academic landscape, including instructors, administrators, instructional designers, and educational leaders from institutions around the world interested in technology, international education, and new pedagogies.
IVEC is an annual conference shaped by a range of stakeholders engaged in virtual exchange from thought leaders to emerging voices, thus forming a global, inclusive community of virtual exchange practitioners, researchers, and professionals that provides a forum for dialogue and growth.
Virtual Exchange (also known as Collaborative Online International Learning – COIL, Globally Networked Learning, or Telecollaboration) extends authentic opportunities for intercultural and transnational learning to students within K-16 classrooms, as well as through co-curricular activities.
