Greek Universities present their study programs in Amman, Jordan

Study in Greece, along with esteemed representatives from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, the University of Patras and the University of Crete had a very productive first day, with a kick-off recruitment event at the Four Seasons Hotel Amman, in an environment where anyone could gather important information about
Greek higher education.

The Greek University mission interacted with students of all levels who showed great interest in Greek study programs, taught in English as well as the Greek language. The event was honoured with the presence of his Excellency Wajih Mousa Owais, former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Jordan and current Senator, who praised the effort of Greek higher education in strengthening its international profile.

The presentation session began with a brief introduction from Study in Greece’s Operations Director, George Chatzithanasis, and the President of SiG, Professor Christos Michalakelis, both of whom equally emphasized the importance of growing relations between Greece and Jordan in an educational context. Following that, the Ambassador of Greece in Jordan, Her Excellency Eirini Riga, greeted the event, reaffirming the Embassy’s support for the work of Study in Greece and Greek universities to provide high quality education to students not only
from Jordan, but from all over the world.

After the opening speeches, the representatives of the participating universities proceeded to an insightful presentation of all their international study programs and all their distinct features, both undergraduate and postgraduate, in the presence of an audience especially engaged and interested in what Greek institutions can offer. In fact, a number of the attendees were Jordanians who had studied in Greece in the past, extremely keen on acquiring information on the current landscape of Greek higher education and introducing their own children to this study abroad experience.

The event concluded with another round of attendees visiting the Greek universities booths, leaving all participants hopeful for fruitful collaborations and increased student mobility between Greek and Jordanian institutions.
