From Insight to Impact Vol. 9 – Positioning Greece for Global Student Growth with MSM Unify

Study in Greece (SiG) continued its “From Insight to Impact” webinar series with the ninth session, delivered in collaboration with MSM Unify – a global education platform supporting more than 1,500 institutions worldwide. The webinar brought together Greek universities and international institutions to examine emerging student markets, mobility pathways, and new opportunities for strengthening Greece’s international recruitment strategy.

The session, “Positioning Greece for Global Student Growth: Market Insights, Mobility Pathways, and MSM Unify’s Internationalisation Framework”, was presented by Babitha Vadamodula Leclère, Vice President of Partnerships at MSM Unify. Drawing on her extensive experience across Europe, South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, she outlined the rising global interest in Greece as an academic destination – driven by safety, affordability, cultural appeal, and expanding English-taught programs. During the presentation, she highlighted how geopolitical shifts, visa uncertainties in traditional Anglophone destinations, and increased demand for European mobility are creating new momentum for Greece. She also emphasized that Greek universities are strategically positioned to benefit from this transition by strengthening visibility, engagement, and collaboration in key source markets.

Key takeaways:

  • High-Demand Regions: Increasing student mobility from India, South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, with growing interest beyond major cities into Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions.
  • Student Behaviour Trends: Rising emphasis on affordability, safety, employability, and hybrid or flexible learning options.
  • Mobility Pathways: Opportunities for dual degrees, transnational education models, and multi-campus learning experiences.
  • Digital Recruitment: The role of technology-driven outreach, local market engagement, and data-informed communication strategies.
  • MSM Unify Framework: An overview of how MSM Unify supports universities through recruitment services, in-country representation, online program management, and strategic partnership development.

In the Q&A session, many practical topics were explored, such as admissions processes for key markets, student support needs, entry requirements, and strategies for navigating high-volume regions. Participants also discussed opportunities for hybrid program delivery, market relevance of specific disciplines, and tailored approaches to engaging diverse student groups.

The webinar closed with shared optimism about Greece’s potential to strengthen its global presence, foster new partnerships, and position itself as a competitive European study destination.
