On April 29th, Study in Greece (SiG) had the honor of welcoming a distinguished delegation from the Education Department of Hunan Province, China. The delegation was led by Mr. XIA Zhilun, Director-General of the Hunan Provincial Education Department, and included senior representatives from the department as well as key academic institutions in the province. SiG also had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. WANG Ying, Education Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Greece, who attended the meeting and witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at its conclusion.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged presentations on their educational systems, demographics, and internationalization strategies. The two sides also discussed opportunities for collaboration in the field of higher education.
The highlight of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Education Department of Hunan Province and Study in Greece. The MoU aims to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation, facilitate institutional partnerships, and promote student and staff exchanges between universities in Hunan and Greece. This agreement marks a significant step forward in Sino-Hellenic educational collaboration, highlighting SiG’s commitment not only to engaging with China as a whole but also to recognizing and working closely with individual provinces like Hunan. By acknowledging each region’s unique educational strengths and priorities, SiG aims to foster more targeted, meaningful, and sustainable partnerships that reflect the distinct character and needs of each locality.
