A smart system for managing and monitoring conditions in hospitals was created by a research team from the Athens University of Economics and Business. The Greek team “Dr.IV” won three awards from the Department of Management Science and Technology of the Athens University of Economics and Business in the 17th Pan-European Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition “JA Europe Enterprise Challenge 2020”, which was hosted for the first time in Greece by Junior Achievement Greece. The award was presented to Dr.IV, a smart hospital management and monitoring system. With the use of Internet of Things technology, “Dr.IV” immediately alerts mobile nursing staff when errors occur, so that the damage is repaired immediately and a dangerous complication is avoided. “We never imagined that an idea started through a university course would go so far as to represent our country and our university in a pan-European competition of this scope,” explains a member of the team, thanking Junior Achievement Greece for giving them the opportunity to present their Start-Up idea but also to take their next steps.
