The NTUA team with the electric racing car wins distinctions in the International Formula Student Competition

Prom Racing, the NTUA team that has been participating in the Formula Student World Competition since 2008, won the distinctions in the races that has taken part this summer. Prom Racing designed and built its first electric racing car and it is the first Greek team that achieved to win a Formula Student competition!

In competitions organized, even on famous Formula 1, tracks such as the Hungarian Hungaroring and the German Hockenheim, the NTUA team dominated, winning in many cases even the 1st place in all dynamic races, with top distinctions in the Endurance categories, Engineering Design Event and Cost Event.

The dominance of the team was absolute and in the match that took place in Czech Republic, its appearance in the Netherlands was also exceptional. Especially in the competition of Germany, it took the 5th place in the General Ranking among the 38 top electric teams in the world.

The Schools of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering of the NTUA, the Research Institute of Computer Science and Computer Systems as well as the sponsors of the team made a decisive contribution to all the successes of Prom Racing – despite the difficulties of the coronavirus pandemic and the transition from thermal to electric motor for the car.
