The Agricultural University of Athens – hub of EIT Food in Greece

Founded by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology, EIT Food is a European consortium focusing on entrepreneurship and food innovation from different partners across Europe. The Agricultural University of Athens in collaboration with the non-profit organization Industry Disruptors Game Changers submitted a proposal to the judging panel of the EIT Food Institute. The EIT Food judging panel selected the submitted proposal to be the regional hub of EIT Food in Greece.

The wider EIT Food community includes leading companies and innovative start-up companies, as well as universities and research centers from the wider agri-food sector. EIT Food is the link between these actors and investors with the aim of promoting innovation, increasing employment and providing sustainable growth opportunities for Europe.

The Agricultural University of Athens in collaboration with the non-profit organization Industry Disruptors Game Changers, utilizing its research and educational experience in the whole range of the agri-food sector, will connect the European development community with the domestic research ecosystem, innovation and entrepreneurship in this crucial scientific and social field which brings together agriculture and nutrition.
