On April 21, 2020, the Silk Road Cities Alliance and “Study in Greece” (SiG) signed a memorandum of cooperation. As strategic partners of each other, the two sides promised to support each other and cooperate sincerely to jointly promote Chinese students to study, exchange and study in Greece And Sino-Greek cooperation in running schools and other projects. Simeng will be responsible for project planning, promotion, implementation, policy interpretation, and enrollment training. “Study in Greece” will also support the Silk Road Youth Dream Exchange organized by the Silk Alliance every year, and recommend and organize Greek players to participate in the competition every year.
Greece is located at the southernmost tip of the Balkan Peninsula and is the birthplace of Western civilization. It is one of the moderately developed countries in the European Union, with developed shipping and tourism industries. In April 2019, Greece became a full member of the China-CEEC cooperation mechanism. The education policy dialogue and educational cooperation exchange exhibition under the “17 + 1 cooperation” framework provided a new platform for education cooperation between the two countries. In this context, the Greek government attaches great importance to educational cooperation with China, actively promotes educational reform, and accelerates the internationalization of Greek education, including promoting more cooperation between universities in the two countries, and promoting the opening of English courses at the undergraduate level of Greek universities to attract high-quality Chinese students Go to Greece to study and so on.
“Study in Greece” (SiG) is a non-profit organization that has been fully recognized by the Greek government as an educational and cultural bridge between Greece and other countries. SiG provides information about studying and living in Greece, and organizes and implements study abroad and exchange programs in Greece. In the 2019-2020 school year, 16 universities offer English-taught postgraduate courses with up to 110 majors, covering agriculture, art, economics, environmental science, health, humanities, law, politics, engineering, social sciences, and science and technology. Greece is a member of the “Bologna Process” of the European Higher Education Reform Program, so ECTS credits earned at Greek universities can be recognized by other member countries of the Bologna Process.
Simeng will work closely with “Study in Greece” and strive to send outstanding Chinese students to study in Greece in the 2020-2021 school year.
