Study in Greece is delighted to welcome and promote the collaboration between Weifang Medical University and Harokopio University of Athens as crystallized into the MOU signed between the two HE institutes on the 2nd of July 2021.
The signing ceremony’s conference, attended by Wang Qiang, Chargé d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Greece, Dr. Apostolis Dimitropoulos, Secretary-General for Higher Education of the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, as well as by the two universities’ leaders: Prof. Guan Yingjun and Rector Maria Nikolaidi, and SiG’s President, Prof. Christos Michalakelis, offered participants the opportunity to highlight the importance of the initiative regarding the two countries’ academic and scientific relations as well as to emphasize on the varied range of joint projects and perspectives emerging from the cultural and educational dialogue between Greece and China.
It’s worth mentioning that Harokopio University of Athens is the first Greek university to establish a partnership with the globally recognized Chinese university. The two institutions’ collaboration framework, consisting of scientific, academic and professional synergies in the field of Health Sciences, aligns totally with the spirit and aims of the traditional Greek-Chinese cooperation in Education, Culture and Tourism.
The current agreement between Weifang Medical University and Harokopio University constitutes one more color on the pallet of Greek HE’s internationalization strategy which prioritizes innovation, openness and exchange between Greek and foreign universities.
