The Hellenic Institute of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies in Venice co-organized with Peking University, the International Scientific Conference entitled “Byzantium and China: Relationships and Parallels” which took place on October 2-3, in Mystras, Greece.
Representing the Minister of Education Ms. Niki Kerameus, the General Secretary of Higher Education Mr. Apostolis Dimitropoulos addressed a greeting and he highlighted the recent initiatives undertaken by the Ministry in order to enhance the collaboration between Greek and Chinese universities. More precisely, the actions include the Master’s degree in Comparative Study of Ancient Greek and Chinese Philosophy as well as the establishment of the Center for Study of Ancient Greece and China in Athens.
Finally, he announced that on October 21, the inaugural event will be held to promote the collaboration between Greek and Chinese institutions with the cooperation of the Ministries of Education of both countries, an initiative similar to those already launched with the United States and Great Britain.
