On Wednesday 18 October 2023, the inauguration of the Institute of Digital Biomedicine in Zakynthos took place, marking the beginning of a new era in the field of digital health and biomedicine. 

The event was attended by important guests including representatives of the municipal and regional authorities, the Rector of the Ionian University, Prof. Andreas Floros, and the President of the University Centre for Research and Innovation Panagiotis Vlamos.

The Institute announced six initial collaborations with renowned scientists and institutions worldwide. These partnerships, which are expected to play a critical role in advancing research and development in digital biomedicine, include the McGovern Medical School of the University of Texas, (UTHealth Houston), USA, Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada, TranslaTUM – Center for Translational Cancer Research, University of Munich, Germany, JOIST Innovation Park, Greece, the Athens Medical School of the National Academy of Sciences, Athens, Greece, and the National Centre for Research in Natural Sciences (NCRS) “Demokritos”.For more information concerning the Institute’s activities follow the link below: https://ucri.ionio.gr/indibio/
