A collaboration with an international impact was sealed on Monday by the University of Thessaly, which also officially welcomed the Confucius Institute, which has the Higher Education Institutions of the People’s Republic of China. The Confucius Institute in collaboration with the Central University of Finance and Economics, will offer Chinese language courses at the University of Thessaly, will implement exchange and visit programs for students and teachers and will organize intercultural cooperation activities. It will also participate in a network of more than 500 Confucius Institutes around the world and will develop research and educational collaborations with many of them.
The inauguration took place with the presence of the Rector’s Office, the Rector of the University of Thessaly Mr. Zisis Mamouris, members of the academic community, the Deputy Minister of Education Mr. Zettas Makris, MPs and the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute.
The General Secretary of Higher Education, Mr. Apostolis Dimitropoulos, had also an online presence at the event. He congratulated the University of Thessaly and its human resources for their successful cooperation with the Beijing Central University of Finance and he noted that the event “highlights their practical commitment to the strategy of extroversion and internationalization.”
