First place for the iGEM Thessaly 2022 team in an international environmental competition

The iGEM Thessaly 2022 student research team, representing the University of Thessaly for the 4th consecutive year at the iGEM (international Genetically Engineered Machine) global synthetic biology competition, won not only first place in its field but also nominations for several special awards.

Presenting the “Navanthus” project in the final of the global competition, iGEM Thessaly 2022 won the award for the Best Environment Project, taking 1st place among all the environmental projects that competed worldwide in this category.

The competition was held this year in Paris, October 26-28, at the Paris Expo-Porte de Versailles.
