The 2nd place in the European Competition i-Days 2022 (Innovation Days) of EIT Health, which took place on Thursday, November 24, 2022 in Vienna, Austria, was won by a group of students from the University of Thessaly. The Innotech team with Iliana Platonas, Grigoris Karypides and Agathangelos Papadopoulos, after winning 1st place in the national i-Days Competition, traveled to Vienna, Austria – all expenses paid – and competed with the national i-Days winners, teams students from leading European Universities.
The Greek team participated with the femtech solution Warmly, a smart device to reduce dysmenorrhoea symptoms and won 2nd place, receiving as a prize 1,500 euros for expert consulting guidance from EIT Health to develop their innovative product, as well as access to unique networking opportunities and new education and training opportunities. In particular, the Warmly innovation concerns a smart wearable device that reduces the symptoms of dysmenorrhea, using sensors and heating action. The device also comes with an application for mobile phones.
The Innovation Days are an institution of EIT Health and aim to promote innovation in health, through the active participation and training of students from academic institutions across Europe. From 17 October to 11 November 2022, i-Days were held in more than 30 different locations across Europe, online and/or in person.
