Great distinction – Four Greek universities among the 1,000 best in the world

According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the “Shanghai Ranking”, four (4) Greek universities are ranked among the 1,000 best in the world. The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens has been noted highly ranked, followed by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Crete, and the University of Thessaly.

This ranking is considered one of the three most important world rankings.

Since 2009, ARWU has been presenting the world’s top universities annually based on certain indicators.
