Great distinction for the University of Crete – Medal for the edible coronavirus vaccine

Another great distinction for the University of Crete and specifically for the iGEM – CRETE team. This group was distinguished for the project of the edible vaccine for the coronavirus.

According to the Assistant Professor of Microbiology at the Department of Biology of the University of Crete and Honorary Professor at the University of Exeter, Dr. Panagiotis F. Sarris, the team excelled in the iGEM global Synthetic Biology competition, winning the silver medal.

“Well done to our team, to the students and the supervising teachers”, notes Mr. Sarris in his post, among others.
