Forging ties between Greek and U.S. Universities

Speaking to University World News about Greek-American strategic partnerships and synergies in higher education, the U.S. Ambassador to Greece George J. Tsunis praised the initiatives between the two nations and emphasized that Greece is gradually emerging as a top destination for international studies.

The President of Study in Greece, Prof. Christos Michalakelis portrayed the new international education landscape, highlighting SiG’s role in this new era, and underlined the chances for partnerships following the fruitful visits and discussions between Greek and U.S. universities in November 2022 in the context of the Pharos Summit.

Alexis Fylaktopoulos, President of College Year in Athens, Angeliki Tzanetou, Associate Professor in the Department of Classics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Nicolas Prevelakis, Assistant Director of Curriculum Development at Harvard’s Center for Hellenic Studies, between others, elaborated on the ongoing collaborations and joint initiatives between Greece and the U.S., stressing the importance and contribution of the Hellenic-American partnerships in Higher Education to the enhancement of bilateral relationships and ties between the two countries.
