Welcome to “Study in Greece: 3 Years of Internationalization – Reflecting on the Past; Gazing into the Future of Higher Education”, a prestigious gathering celebrating the remarkable progress achieved in the internationalization of Greek Higher Education. This event is an opportunity to reflect on our journey, present our achievements, honor the critical work we do to make Greece an attractive study-abroad destination, and a glimpse into our unwavering commitment to its future appeal.
The “Study in Greece: 3 Years of internationalization” Event is the result of a collaborative endeavor between the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and Study in Greece, united by a shared commitment to advancing the cause of international education and elevating Greece to the forefront of study destinations.
SiG, Greece’s national agency for internationalizing higher education, promoting Greek universities, and supporting international students, operates with the backing of four Hellenic Republic ministries: Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, Foreign Affairs, Culture, and Tourism. It is a non-profit organization comprising representatives from all Greek universities, overseen by a nine-member board of directors who are faculty members at Greek universities.
SiG’s aspiration is both modest and monumental: to establish Greece as a global nexus for higher education and elevate Greece as a whole. Over the course of recent years, we have labored assiduously towards this noble vision and remain committed to ongoing efforts to achieve even greater outcomes. “Study in Greece: 3 Years of Internationalization” serves as a tangible testament to our unwavering dedication.
