At a high level, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the context of the meeting of the Vice President of the Greek Government Panagiotis Pikramenos with the Vice President and Member of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Sun Chunlan, in the presence of the Ministers of Education Nikis Kerameos Huai Jinpeng, as well as the Ministers of Sports of Greece Lefteris Avgenakis and China Gao Zhidan a cooperation agreement was signed between the University of West Attica and the University of Shanghai (Traditional Chinese Medicine) for the Establishment of a Confucius Institute at UNIWA.

The Confucius Institute is an official support mechanism for educational collaborations between academic institutions in China and the rest of the world, which aims to support cultural and educational activities.

At the Confucius Institute established in UNIWA, actions related to learning the Chinese language and culture are planned, as well as specialized education at undergraduate, postgraduate and lifelong levels, educational trips, summer schools, seminars, conferences, etc.
