Memorandum of Understanding and Collaboration signed between the Democritus University of Thrace and Logos University College of Tirana

Democritus University of Thrace is building partnership with LOGOS University College of Albania. On the 20th July, during the meeting that was held online, following the proposal of Prof. Zoe Gavriilidou, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Welfare, the Senate of Democritus University of Thrace proceeded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Collaboration with LOGOS University College.

LOGOS University is a non-profit private higher education institution, located in the city of Tirana. It was founded in 2008 by Emer. Prof. Dr. Anastasios Yannoulatos Archbishop of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania and President of LOGOS Foundation.

Democritus University of Thrace has already assisted, through the teaching staff members of the Department of Greek Philology, in the operation and development of the Department of Greek Language in Tirana, while recently Logos University College addressed the Department of Social Work of DUTh for collaborating in joint undergraduate study program. A program considered to be essential for its role by Archbishop Anastasios, funded by the social function of the Church of Albania that will provide in the future adequate Human Resources and understand as well the changing gaps in the higher education landscape.

The Department of Social Work and the Department of Greek Philology of DUTh encouraged this collaboration which is already in progress, as staff exchanges have taken place with the support of the Erasmus+ program, while DUTh managed to receive a grant for his cooperation with Logos University College.
