AUTh professor Anastasia Zampaniotou belongs to 2% of the world scientific elite

At Stanford University’s prestigious “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list, which includes 2% of scientists worldwide, with the greatest influence and contribution both during 2020 and their entire career, is a Greek woman, the professor of AUTh, Anastasia Zampaniotou.

In particular, the list presents the ranking of the researchers with the most references in the world and those who are among the top 2% of the more than six million scientists worldwide in their field of specialization (22 main fields and 176 sub-fields). The list focuses on both the annual impact (2020) and the overall career of scientists.

The famous list with 2% of the world’s top scientists was compiled this year by a group of experts led by Ioannis Ioannidis, the distinguished professor at Stanford University.

Ms. Zampaniotou was born in Larissa, is a graduate of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with postgraduate and doctoral studies at the Ecole Centrale de Paris in Paris.

She is a professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, laboratory director and head of the Biomass and Bioenergy scientific team of the Department of Chemical Engineering.

She is an Honorary Professor at the University of Hull, England and a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Ecole Centrale de Marseille, France.
