#NotAlone OpenAir by Art Hub Athens

The City of Athens in collaboration with ART HUB Athens and under the coordination of the Office of Culture of the Mayor of Athens, presents the group art exhibition #NotAlone OpenAir, in order to raise awareness among the general public, to contribute to the effort against gender-based violence and to highlight Art as an important means of social change.

The crisis of values that governs modern societies, the lack of education as well, and the silencing of violence in general, are the main factors in the escalation of femicides in recent years. The list of victims constantly increases, while the survivors experience daily, the psychological and physical trauma; which was caused by perpetrators who consider that they possess their fellow human man, as a material form. We must all together, shake off the veil of silence and help with every means, to suppress and prevent gender violence, which is physical, verbal and psychological.

Practically contributing to the aims of the action, the Municipality of Athens provides the special stands located on the pedestrian street of Vasilissis Olgas Avenue, hosting the works of Greek creators who responded to the call of ART HUB Athens, creating original works against gender violence.

Elena Karanikoulou (@missy_merida), Angeliana Koroniou (@foxy_lady11), Eleftheria Makroglou Panousaki (@eleftheriamakpan), Maria Mylona (@rimalyma), Yiannis Tzomakas (@johntzomakas) , Niki Triantafyllopoulou (@nikiamanikia_tattoo), Nikos Tsitsos (@nikos_tsi) are participating in the exhibition and giving their own message against gender violence.

The exhibition will last until September 8th. Don’t miss it.
