Chania is the second largest city of the island of Crete and is the capital of the Chania regional unit. It lies along the north coast of the island, about 70 km west of Rethymno. Chania have a great history. The Cretan folk tradition is imprinted on the local art that reflects the sense of beauty and the artistic expression of local people.
Technical University of Crete was established in 1977 with five (5) departments in a campus outside the of Chania city. Along with the university there is the Technical Educational Institution that has three (3) of its’ departments at Chania.
Students can enjoy the low cost of life, the more relaxed way of living and also be able to have education of great standards. Chania is also known for its’ cultural and thematic students’ groups that are active and have become a great way for students to socialize, express themselves and get introduced to new hobbies.
In the summer, the city of Chania is the most visited along the island of Crete. An afternoon stroll in the historic city centre and the old Venetian harbor is a must. There is a “plethora” of uniquely beautiful beaches. Villages are also easily accessible for adventures the will be engraved in the memory of every traveler.
