"Greek Cultural Heritage" Winter School in Nafplio

A journey from Athens Center to the historic city of Nafplio in Peloponnese, the first capital of Greece.  Α blessed city with the floating palace “Palamidi” in the steep hills, to the “The Fortress Island” called “Mpourtzi”. Visit of the ancient theatres of Argus and Epidaurus. A journey into the greek traditions, drama and music.

Program of the Winter School

DAY 1 7/2/2019 AIRPORT TO NAFPLIO
  Arrival to Athens Airport
   Travel from Athens to Nafplio by bus
  Check in at “Hotel Park”, Nafplio city
   Dinner
DAY 2 8/2/2019 NAFPLIO
  7:00 - 8:30 Breakfast
  8:30 Meet the group at the hotel lobby
  8:30- 9:30 Travel to Epidaurus 
  9:30 – 11:30   Guided tour in archaeological sites: visit to the ancient theater of  Epidaurus and visit to the Sanctuary of Asklepios
  11:30 – 11:45  Travel to Ligourio village 
  11:45 - 12:30 Lunch at Taverna in Ligourio
  12:30 – 13:15  Travel to Nafplio
  13:30 – 17:00  Lectures at “Center for Hellenic Studies, Harvard University” 
1) 30min lecture: Introduction about the “Center for Hellenic Studies, Harvard University”  2) 3h Lecture: “Secrets and Stories from the Past with the aim of Archaeomertry” by Prof. N. Zacharias” 
  17:00-19:00 Free Time
  19:00 Dinner at Nafplio

  9:30 – 13:00   Guided tour in archaeological sites by Assistant Professor, Dr Maria Mikedaki is : Larissa Castle (Castle of Argos) and Ancient Theatre of Argos

  16:00 – 19:00  Lecture at “University of Peloponnese” -  3h Lecture:  “Greek Ancient Theater”  by   Dr Maria Mikedaki is Assistant Professor at the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of the Peloponnese

  18:00 Dinner with acropolis view at Thissio View
DAY 8 14/2/2019 ATHENS TO AIRPORT
  8:00 -10:00 Breakfast
    To El. Venizelos Airport

 

Registration Fee: 13800元/人 or 1.755 €

The cost includes: 
1. Study fee, workshop fee 
2. transportation fee in Greece 
3. insurance fee during school study period 
4. accommodation, meals, no drinks 
5. Entrance fees at Archaeological sites and museums such as Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, Epidaurus Theatre
6. drivers, tour guide fees

The fee does not include: 
1. International air ticket, visa, and overseas travel insurance. After successful registration, apply for a visa on your own. If necessary, you can apply for assistance from the school. 
2. Other costs other than single room difference and hotel room rate ; 
3, not mentioned in the itinerary and included attraction tickets, optional tour, shopping and other personal consumption; 
4, the personal costs incurred due to illness, accidents and so on; 
5, because of the strike, traffic control, flight cancellations or natural causes Change the extra cost caused by manpower irresistible factors such as time; 
6. Other expenses not mentioned above.
